August 26th the Oklahoma City Early Ford V-8 Club celebrated their 50th Anniversary at the Embassy Suites. Current and past members were invited to attend. The president of the National Early Ford V-8 Club, Rick Claybaugh, presented their 50th Anniversary Certificate to club's president, Earl Claybaugh and founding members, Ted Davis and Steve Davis. We were very honored to have two of our founding members there. Ted and Steve are still active vintage cars enthusiasts. Steve wore his original club cap with mementos of past club events.
Randy and Beth Plant brought photo books of the past club drives and National Meets from years past. Randy also made copies of the Club’s 1st newsletter written on July 1, 1973. The 1st newsletter wrote what the club decided on the name the club, how much dues to charge, and a name for the newsletter. It mentioned about George Sarinopoulos drafting the document to petition with the necessary signatures to send to the National Club for recognition as a Regional Group.
